Carmelahhh! Comedy

Meet Carla and Racquel: best friends and both halves of the all-female, no-nonsense comedy duo, Carmelahhh! Conceived in August 2016 under the most romantic circumstances, the sketch comedy and improvisational duo have been performing frequently within the Vancouver comedy circuit at shows such as Instant Theatre’s Cagematch & Double Down, Sidekicks, The Improv Voltron, Rapp Battlez - Wezt Coazt, and Proud of You. Carmelahhh’s work consists of a wacky playfulness, jabbing wit, and beautifully optimistic (though oftentimes VERY questionable) imaginations that cover themes of -though are certainly not limited to- love, friendship, fear, self-empowerment, death, and all of the other nasty stuff in between that no one ever wants to talk about.

Racquel Belmonte is an improviser, writer, sketch comedian, and voice-actor whose been performing since she was a child with bun pigtails. Now as an adult with bun pigtails, Racquel can be seen performing in various improv and sketch shows around Vancouver. In addition to Carmelahhh, she is a member of Blind Tiger Comedy’s sketch and improv houseteams. Racquel has performed in New York as part of the Del Close Marathon, performed at the Upfront Theatre alongside Ryan Stiles, and was recently part of Vancouver International Imrov Festival’s local ensemble.

Carla is an improviser, sketch comedian, web developer, cat-mom, and writer for the upcoming animated short film "Witch Problems?". She is part of Instant Theatre’s Mainstage cast, and performs regularly at improv and sketch shows around the city wearing elaborate cardboard costumes. Carla has had the pleasure of performing in festivals such as Vancouver Sketch Fest, Vancouver International Improv Fest, and Seattle Festival of Improv Theatre.

Come join these character-driven crazy ladies, and stay tuned for all upcoming shows!
